Needle Guard Adjustment: Be sure the device is OFF when adjusting the needle guard. Set the depth of the needle to the desired location prior to injection. The adjustment of the needle guard modifies the depth that the needle guard will travel into the device and thus how far the needle will protrude beyond the guard and into the skin when the device is activated.
Cleaning/ Changing the Needle Guard:
__________________________________________________________________________ To adjust the needle guard, first loosen the knob on the underside of the needle guard by turning clockwise. When adjusting the needle guard, do not unscrew or remove the knob completely, simply loosen it allowing the needle guard slightly in or out of the device, allowing you to adjust the depth of the needle will penetrate the skin with each injection.
A clean needle guard must be used for each patient. To remove the needle guard from the device, completely unscrew the knob on the underside of the needle guard (by turning clockwise). With the screw removed from the device, pull the needle guard from the device. Install a clean needle guard for each patient.

With the syringe installed and the device off, carefully press the syringe driver forward. Be careful, this movement will cause the needle to protrude beyond the needle guard. Check the distance the needle guard protrudes beyond the needle guard as this will indicate the approximate depth of injection. Determine whether the needle guard should be shifted back or forth, allow the syringe driver to retract to the standard position.

Make adjustments to the needle guard accordingly. Refer to the previous page for directions on how to adjust the needle guard. Once adjustments to the needle guard have been made it is important that you again carefully press the syringe driver forward and check the distance the needle protrudes beyong the needle guard, you may have to repeat this process several times to achieve the desired location of the needle guard and depth of your injection.

| Injecting Doses The Inderm is programmed to signal when the injection is completed. The signal is a single beep that follows every injection. This signal is used to allow time for the injection to be absorbed. |
